Welcome to the Pristine Waters lake and pond restoration gallery. Is your lake or pond murky? Our lake restoration and pond restoration services can help turn your swamp into a Pristine Waters pond or lake! Our lake restoration services can make your waterfront look as clean and pristine through the use of suction dredging and suction harvesting. In the past lake restoration used to mean draining your pond or lake and using heavy equipment to dig out a waterfront. This imprecise method is harmful to the ecosystem. Pristine Waters’s suction dredging
and suction harvesting
systems make lake restoration less invasive and more eco-friendly. Our methods are cleaner, more wildlife friendly, and just as effective! Our trained divers remove the muck (sediment) precisely and can avoid the native wildlife. Please take a look at some of the before and after photographs of our work, along with information throughout our site.
Suction dredging can reclaim depth and effectively reduce algae growth by reducing the phosphorous load in a pond or lake. By deepening a pond or area of a lake, you are effectively accomplishing two things. First, you are reducing organic sediment and increasing the water column depth. By increasing water volume, the energy needed to heat a pond or lake is increased. Likewise, greater energy is needed to maintain a higher temperature. Lower water temperatures result in higher dissolved oxygen content. Higher dissolved oxygen content means a healthier environment for fish and the natural and beneficial bacteria that lives in a pond or lake. This bacteria helps to break down organic matter and reduce the phosphorous content in a body of water but here is the key – this bacteria is far more effective in higher oxygen environments
. This results in less sunlight penetrating to the bottom of a pond or lake. As a result, the water stays cooler and unavailable phosphorous does not become available as it heats up. Less available phosphorous means less food for algae. Second, by directly eliminating both available and unavailable (which can become available) phosphorous through suction dredging
a pond immediately has less available food for algae growth.
Suction harvesting can be used to greatly reduce or eliminate non-native invasive plants as well as invasive nuisance native plants. These plants can take over a pond or lake, thereby stagnating water and making for unsightly appearances. Fishing becomes more difficult as well as swimming and boating. Pristine Waters’s suction harvesting services can specifically target unwanted plants. By taking the plants out by the roots and reducing the existing seed bed, we can get your pond’s vegetation under control.
